Baseball Recap: Simeon Finds Home Field Redemption Against Solorio

There's no place like home for Simeon, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past the Solorio Sun Warriors 12-2 on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wolverines also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Christian Lott spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Simeon got a massive performance out of Cavion Danley, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave Danley a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Ware, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Simeon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Solorio only posted an OBP of .208.

Simeon's record now sits at 7-8-2. As for Solorio, their record is now 5-9.

Coming up, Simeon will square off against DePaul College Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Wolverines' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Solorio will be paying especially close attention to Simeon's contest: after Simeon faces off against DePaul College Prep, they'll take on Solorio again at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
