Softball Recap: County Line Indians vs. Lavaca Golden Arrows

County Line lost against Lavaca back in March of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The County Line Indians' tough 10-2 loss to the Lavaca Golden Arrows might stick with them for a while. County Line has not had much luck with Lavaca recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

For Lavaca's part, Macie Irby and Hannah Winchester were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Irby pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Winchester struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Irby has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances. At bat, Irby scored a run while going 1-for-3, while Winchester scored a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Mayli Stockton was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Brewer, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

County Line's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Lavaca, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
