For the first time this season, West Field will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Friday. They will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Bear River Bears at 3:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Last Wednesday, everything went West Field's way against Bonneville as West Field made off with an 11-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Longhorns.

Brinklee Hadley made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. Hadley was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Ella Doxey was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Ayzlee Sessions was another key player, scoring two runs while going 4-for-5.

Kate Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on one hit and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Bella Dougals and Londyn Gamble did most of the damage at the plate: Dougals went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Gamble went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Canfield, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Bear River's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for West Field, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
