Softball Recap: Newton South Takes Down Ranked Boston Latin Academy

Newton South faced Boston Latin Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Lions came out on top against the Dragons by a score of 8-5. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won six in a row.

The team relied heavily on Lauren Kelley, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Zoe Spector, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Newton South always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Boston Latin Academy only posted an OBP of .320.
