Softball Recap: Bradley-Bourbonnais' Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Bradley-Bourbonnais put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Benet Academy Redwings. That's more bragging rights for the Boilermakers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Lydia Hammond made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tristin Woods, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Shannon Lee, who scored a run and stole three bases.

Bradley-Bourbonnais' record now sits at 4-0. As for Benet Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bradley-Bourbonnais will challenge Huntley at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Benet Academy, they will face off against Wheaton-Warrenville South at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wheaton-Warrenville South will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Benet Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
