League recap: Brogdon overpowering for Liberty in past week

North Sequoia league recap: 5/14/12

North Sequoia's top pitcher this week was Connor Brogdon. His stat line for the week included one win and 16 Ks.

Kerman (19-9, 9-1) is riding a league-best 8-game winning streak. In the past week, the Lions won another three games, including a 7-5 victory over Sierra.

Chowchilla's pitching staff dominated this week, allowing only nine hits and one walks, both of which led the league. On the season, the Redskins have allowed just 128 hits, while striking out 205 batters. Carlos Aveliz leads the Redskins with 87 strikeouts in 49 innings.

Liberty's Michael Ross led the league with seven hits this week. On the season, he's hitting .283 and ranks fiftefth in the league with 17 hits.

Garrett Olsen went 4-4 as Chowchilla defeated Liberty 2-1 on Friday. He also drove in two runners.
