Soccer Recap: Brewer Comes Up Short

After flying high against Saginaw on Tuesday, Brewer came back down to earth. The Bears fell just short of the Granbury Pirates by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Brewer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 427th, while Granbury are ranked 204th).

Brewer's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-11-1. As for Granbury, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Brewer is set to square off against their familiar foe Azle at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Granbury will face off against rival Aledo at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
