Football Recap: First Academy Piles Up the Points Against Liberty Christian Prep

First Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed past the Liberty Christian Prep Lions to the tune of 47-6. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Eagles just coasted through the last quarter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead First Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Henry Purvis, who rushed for 80 yards on only eight carries, and also threw for 96 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Those 80 rushing yards gave Purvis a new career-high. Rayce Teate was another key receiver, gaining 88 total yards and three touchdowns.

First Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Teate led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

First Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Liberty Christian Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 1-2.

Looking ahead, First Academy will welcome Academy at the Lakes at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Liberty Christian Prep, they will take on The Classical Academy of Sarasota at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
