Volleyball Recap: St. Ignatius Picks Up 14th Straight Win at Home

St. Ignatius faced Jackson in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Polar Bears by a score of 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Polar Bears: they've now won four in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 22-25, 25-16, 25-21.

Jack Ragon paced St. Ignatius' offense, picking up 18 kills. Ragon got some help from Andrew Brobbey and his 40 assists. Ragon was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

St. Ignatius' win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. As for Jackson, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Ignatius will head out to take on Thomas Worthington at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The CARDINALS will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Jackson, they will head out on the road to face off against Hudson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
