Lompoc (Calif.) kept up a steady attack all game long to defeat Templeton (Calif.), 42-3, on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Rafael Arellano in the first quarter, the Braves led 21-0 at the half.
Lompoc expanded its lead to 35 points entering the fourth quarter. LHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
Taylor Cornejo.
With the win the Braves extended their winning streak to six games. Lompoc defeated the Pirates 42-14 last week.
Andrew Garrettson played well for the Eagles. The senior wide receiver kicked one field goal. His performance brought his touchdown total to two on the year.
Arellano was the top performer for LHS. The senior running back threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.
The Braves went into the matchup giving up only 9.0 points per game. Templeton's three points were well below its season average of 30.7 per game.
Lompoc also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 28-0.
The loss comes after Templeton defeated Santa Maria 54-7 last week. The loss snapped THS's 3-game winning streak.
Templeton (5-2) goes up against Cabrillo in a Los Padres game matchup next week, while Lompoc (6-0) locks horns with Santa Maria also in a Los Padres game.
