Basketball Recap: Cole Huffman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Maxwell over Hershey

Maxwell lost against Hershey back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Maxwell Wildcats came up short against the Hershey Panthers, falling 66-46.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cole Huffman, who posted 12 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Jesse Reyes, who had ten points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Maxwell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Maxwell's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Hershey, with the win, they broke their ten-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-9.

Maxwell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 62-38 loss against Overton on the 11th. As for Hershey, they will welcome Valentine on Friday.
