Soccer Recap: Arleta's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Arleta entered their match against Poly on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Arleta Mustangs fell just short of the Poly Parrots by a score of 3-2. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Mustangs came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 357th, while the Parrots are ranked 885th).

Jair Montoya and Erick Cabrera scored both of Arleta's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Arleta's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3-3. As for Poly, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-9-1.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Grant the next time they take the pitch. Arleta will head out to face Grant at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Poly will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
