Softball Game Preview: Riverdale Rebels vs. L.W. Higgins Hurricanes

The Riverdale Rebels will head out to face off against the L.W. Higgins Hurricanes at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Riverdale is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against East Jefferson on Tuesday. They lost 17-2 to the Warriors.

Meanwhile, L.W. Higgins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Fisher, falling 18-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

L.W. Higgins' loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Riverdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Riverdale suffered a grim 13-7 defeat to L.W. Higgins in their previous matchup back in March of 2019. Can Riverdale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
