Recap: Booker T. Washington Tornadoes vs. Central Rockets

The Booker T. Washington Tornadoes pushed their score all the way to 62 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 73-62 to Central. While losing is never fun, Booker T. Washington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 418th, while Central is ranked 182nd).

When it comes to explaining why Booker T. Washington lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jahmal David . Despite the final result, he scored 29 points. Those 29 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Leroy Lee Jr, who scored eight points.

Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jodan Wright out in front who scored 16 points. Wright has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dwight Carter, who scored 13 points along with four steals.

Booker T. Washington are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8. As for Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Booker T. Washington will be playing in front of their home fans against Edison at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Edison is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Northwestern at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Northwestern focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Monday.
