Softball Recap: Alonso Victorious

Alonso lost to East Bay back in April of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Ravens came out on top against the Indians by a score of 5-4 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Karina Lozada was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Makenna Sturgis was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.

Alonso lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The victory got Alonso back to even at 9-9. As for East Bay, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-16.
