The home team had won the previous four meetings between Central and Rogers, and Central kept the tradition alive. The Wildcats walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Pirates on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won nine in a row.

Central easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-19.

Ta'Maya Coman paced Central's offense, picking up nine kills. Coman got some help from Caroline Butler and her ten assists. Anna Neal and Becca Bailey kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

Central now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Rogers, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coincidentally, Central and Rogers will both be playing Clay-Chalkville the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will host the Cougars at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Pirates will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
