It was a Battle of the Birds when Bellevue West took on Omaha Central on Thursday. The Thunderbirds came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 3-1. The Thunderbirds have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 22-25, 25-16, 25-13.

Bellevue West was led to victory by Claire Monjarez-Palermo and Emma Derogatis. Monjarez-Palermo had 16 digs and two assists, while Derogatis had 11 assists and five digs.

The win made it two in a row for Bellevue West and bumps their season record up to 7-18. As for Omaha Central, they dropped their record down to 7-12 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Bellevue West will take on Millard West at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Omaha Central, they have already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Lincoln High on the 29th.
