Basketball Recap: Coleville Wolves vs. Excel Christian Warriors
The Coleville Wolves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight defeat. They took a 57-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Excel Christian. If Coleville was looking for revenge after losing 45-38 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Excel Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mark Doerfler, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonah Calderas, who scored 13 points.
Coleville dropped their record down to 1-14 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Excel Christian, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coleville will take on the Serpents at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Mineral County's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 12 matches. As for Excel Christian, they will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
