Basketball Recap: Pickens Academy Takes a Loss

Pickens Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Berry Wildcats, falling 54-18. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-26 back in December of 2024.

Leading Berry to victory were Lake Norris and Jordan Jackson. Norris went 5 of 10 en route to 14 points and four steals, while Jackson posted 13 points in addition to five boards and five blocks. The dominant performance gave Norris a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Smith, who put up five points and five steals.

Pickens Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Berry, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season.

Pickens Academy has already played their next match (against Tuscaloosa Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Berry does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
