Baseball Recap: Eastside's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Eastside lost against Passaic Valley back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Ghosts fell 10-6 to the Hornets. The loss put an end to the Ghosts' undefeated start to the season.

Johan Tejada was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits.

On the hitting side, Angel Sosa was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Liranzo, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Having lost for the first time this season, Eastside fell to 2-1. As for Passaic Valley, their win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastside will square off against Passaic at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The contest will give the Ghosts their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Passaic Valley, they will venture away from home to square off against Pascack Hills at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
