Basketball Recap: Poteau Comes Up Short

Poteau lost against Stilwell back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Poteau Pirates took a hard 60-41 fall against the Stilwell Indians. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 307th, while the Indians are ranked 67th).

Poteau's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Stilwell, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poteau has already played their next match (against Panama), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Stilwell has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Muldrow.
