Soccer Recap: Queen's Grant Takes a Loss

Queen's Grant had taken Mountain Island Charter down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Monday. The Stallions lost 4-1 to the Raptors. While losing is never fun, Queen's Grant can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 401st, while Mountain Island Charter are ranked 192nd).

Queen's Grant's goal came courtesy of Isaiah Ramirez, who's now up to ten this season.

Queen's Grant has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those four games. As for Mountain Island Charter, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Queen's Grant will challenge rival Jackson Day at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Mountain Island Charter is set to face off against their familiar foe Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
