Basketball Recap: Woodcrest Baptist Academy Triumphs

Woodcrest Baptist Academy won the last time they faced Lake Region Christian and things went their way on Tuesday too. Woodcrest Baptist Academy snuck past the Lake Region Christian Hornets with a 49-44 victory. Woodcrest Baptist Academy's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Despite the defeat, Lake Region Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Aleah DeVries went 8 for 16 to rack up 17 points and eight boards. DeVries continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Stephens, who posted five points.

Woodcrest Baptist Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Lake Region Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

Woodcrest Baptist Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lake Region Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Francis Christian at 5:15 p.m. on February 18th.
