Softball Recap: Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran Comes Up Short

Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran and Blair-Taylor pushed the score to 15-5 the last time they played Blair-Taylor, but on Monday defenses reigned supreme. The Lancers fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-5 back in April.

Rachel Kazemba spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cheyenne Wales, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Blair-Taylor, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-7.
