The Poquoson Islanders will face off against the Jamestown Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Poquoson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.

Poquoson managed to slip by Grafton the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Islanders came up short against the Clippers on Wednesday, falling 11-4. It was the first time this season that the Islanders let down their fans at home.

Layla Wheeler made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Peyton Duval also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Jamestown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 4-1 to Tabb.

Jamestown saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Hughes, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Poquoson's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Jamestown, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Poquoson has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .438. However, it's not like Jamestown struggles in that department as they've averaged .441. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Poquoson took their win against Jamestown when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 6-0 score. Will the Islanders repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
