Softball Recap: Claysburg-Kimmel Beats Berlin Brothersvalley for Their 22nd Straight Victory

Claysburg-Kimmel strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against the Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers by a score of 7-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-1 last Friday.

Isabella Paris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Payton Hinish was incredible, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Zakera Bush was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Claysburg-Kimmel lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in three consecutive matches.

Claysburg-Kimmel pushed their record up to 22-0 with the victory, which was their 25th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Berlin Brothersvalley, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-3.

Claysburg-Kimmel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Berlin Brothersvalley, they will head out to face off against Forbes Road at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
