Volleyball Game Preview: Oceanside Collegiate Academy Landsharks vs. Philip Simmons Iron Horses

The Oceanside Collegiate Academy Landsharks will head out to face off against the Philip Simmons Iron Horses at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Oceanside Collegiate Academy will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.

Oceanside Collegiate Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Carolina's top teams: Hanahan, who was ranked 17th at the time (Oceanside Collegiate Academy was ranked seventh). The Landsharks walked away with a 3-1 win over the Hawks on Wednesday.

While Oceanside Collegiate Academy might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Hanahan scored at least 22 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 24-26, 25-22, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Philip Simmons came up short against Summerville on Wednesday and fell 2-0. The Iron Horses have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Summerville scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-17.

Oceanside Collegiate Academy's victory bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Philip Simmons, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Oceanside Collegiate Academy beat Philip Simmons 2-0 in their previous meeting back in August. Will the Landsharks repeat their success, or do the Iron Horses have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
