Softball Recap: Richland Springs Comes Up Short

After flying high against Menard last Friday, Richland Springs came back down to earth. The Coyotes came up short against the Medina Bobcats on Friday, falling 14-2. The Coyotes have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Richland Springs' loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Medina, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richland Springs will host Ballinger at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bearcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.43 runs per game on average), something the Coyotes will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Medina, they will be playing in front of their home fans against D'Hanis at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bobcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cowboys have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season.
