Baseball Recap: Ysleta Takes a Loss

Ysleta lost against Horizon last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Ysleta Indians fell 8-5 to the Horizon Scorpions. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Evan Martinez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Octavio Sanchez also deserves some recognition as he stole his first stolen base of the season.

Even though they lost, Ysleta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Ysleta's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Horizon, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Ysleta will take on Charlotte Christian at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Horizon, they will be taking part in a tournament against Midland Classical Academy at 5:10 p.m. on Thursday.
