Centre snaps three-game streak of losses at home

Recap: Centre Cougars vs. Peabody-Burns Warriors

The Centre Cougars came into Friday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 56-47 victory over Peabody-Burns on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Centre also won the last time the pair played back in January.

Peabody-Burns' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Aiden Hurst, who scored 16 points along with four steals, and Jameson Miles who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Dalton Philpott was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds.

Centre's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-14. As for Peabody-Burns, they dropped their record down to 2-15 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Centre will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Wakefield. As for Peabody-Burns, they will head out on the road to take on St. Xavier at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Kansas (Peabody-Burns is ranked 350th, while St. Xavier is ranked 359th).
