Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Sand Creek

Sand Creek extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Elijah Brotherns. The Sand Creek Scorpions walked away with a 56-47 win over the Air Academy Kadets on Monday thanks in part to Brotherns, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Mathew Starks, who posted six points in addition to ten boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds.

Air Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kaden Mai, who went 6 for 10 en route to 13 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Tygart, who scored 11 points.

Sand Creek's record now sits at 9-2. As for Air Academy, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Sand Creek will take on Sierra at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sierra has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Air Academy, they will square off against Lewis-Palmer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lewis-Palmer is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55 points per game this season.
