Basketball Game Preview: Valley Center Hornets vs. Haysville Campus Colts

The Valley Center Hornets will square off against the Haysville Campus Colts at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Valley Center and 13 for Haysville Campus dating back to last season.

Valley Center managed to keep up with Derby until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Valley Center lost 66-45 to Derby. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Panthers are ranked third).

Meanwhile, Haysville Campus came up short against South on Tuesday and fell 56-48.

Haysville Campus' defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Valley Center, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Valley Center skirted past Haysville Campus 66-63 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Valley Center since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
