Gladwin dropped down to 5-4 on Friday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins. They took a 56-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Goodrich Martians. While losing is never fun, the Flying G's can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 158th, while the Martians are ranked 29th).

Despite the loss, Gladwin still got an impressive performance from Colton Pfenninger, who rushed for 75 yards and two scores, and also threw for 222 yards and one TD.

As for Goodrich, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 31.5 points thus far.

Lucas Urogdy was the offensive standout of the contest as he picked up 73 receiving yards and one touchdown. That receiving touchdown marked the first that he has hauled in this season.

Gladwin and Goodrich are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Flying G's will take on Kingsford at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Goodrich, they will face off against Lake Fenton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Martians will need to watch out since the Blue Devils have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups.
