Preview: Crown Point Panthers vs. Willsboro Central Warriors
Crown Point is 0-5 against Willsboro Central since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Crown Point Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Willsboro Central Warriors at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
On Tuesday, Crown Point suffered a rough 51-28 loss at the hands of Chazy. While losing is never fun, Crown Point can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 672nd, while Chazy is ranked 282nd).
Meanwhile, Willsboro Central's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight defeat. They were beaten by Chazy 56-14. Willsboro Central was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-4.
Crown Point has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Willsboro Central, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road.
Crown Point came up short against Willsboro Central in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 37-25. Can Crown Point avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
