Softball Recap: Marysville Takes a Loss

Marysville dropped their record down to 12-6 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Fraser Ramblers by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Vikings have suffered since April 9, 2024.

As for Fraser, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games.

For Fraser's part, Gabrielle Gajewski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Isabel Wilson, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Irelyn Bednarchik, who went 3-for-4 with two runs.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marysville will head out to square off against Mercy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fraser, they will venture away from home to face off against Utica at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
