Wakeland dropped down to 6-2 on Thursday, ending the team's six-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the McKinney Lions by a score of 2-1. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.
Hannah Lee paced Wakeland's offense, picking up 11 kills. Lee got some help from Gillian Dickerson and her 19 assists. Aubree Fernandez controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
