Baseball Recap: South Bronx Comes Up Short

After flying high against DeWitt Clinton on Wednesday, South Bronx came back down to earth. The Phoenix fell just short of the Inwood Gators by a score of 3-2 on Friday. If the Phoenix were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Gators when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

South Bronx's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Inwood, the win keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Bronx will welcome Bronx High School of Science at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Inwood, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Kennedy at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Gators 2, the Knights 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
