Softball Recap: Davis Comes Up Short

Davis lost against Sunnyside back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pirates lost 22-2 to the Grizzlies. That's two games in a row now that the Pirates have lost by exactly 20 runs.

Maly Cardenas made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Lezlie Cardenas also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Davis' defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Sunnyside, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-5.

While Davis had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
