Football Recap: Russell Piles Up the Points Against Paintsville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Russell). They breezed past the Paintsville Tigers to the tune of 41-0 on Friday. The Red Devils' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Jayden Frasure had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 173 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes. Those three passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

Russell pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.1 points over those games. As for Paintsville, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Russell will look to defend their home field on Friday against Blazer at 7:30 p.m. As for Paintsville, they are taking a road trip to square off against Frankfort at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 40 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
