Basketball Game Preview: Aynor Blue Jackets vs. Loris Lions

Aynor is 0-10 against Loris since February of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Aynor Blue Jackets will look to defend their home court against the Loris Lions at 6:00 p.m.

Aynor is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. The contest between them and Waccamaw didn't end well, with Aynor falling 46-30.

Aynor might have lost, but man, Terianna Richardson was a machine: she dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards. That was a full 43.3% of Aynor's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Elisha Huffman was another key player, putting up five points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Loris humbled Georgetown with a 67-24 victory. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 241st), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Aynor better keep an eye on Janiya Richburg. She was instrumental in Loris' win, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 14 boards. Richburg is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last nine games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mari'Asia Moody, who scored 11 points in addition to seven steals and five assists.

Loris is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Aynor, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

Aynor came up short against Loris in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 51-43. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Richburg, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards.
