On Tuesday Carson Winstead tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits. The effort also marked the fewest walks (zero) Winstead has had since back in March of 2024. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his third in a row with less than two walks. On the season, he has an ERA of 6.30 over 10 innings pitched.

Even though Winstead couldn't lead Morristown-Hamblen East over Sevier County, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Morristown-Hamblen East hasn't beaten Sevier County recently, having gone 0-9 since March of 2023.
