Volleyball Game Preview: Newport Wildcats vs. Carroll County Panthers

The Newport Wildcats will head out to square off against the Carroll County Panthers at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Newport will be strutting in after a victory while Carroll County will be coming in after a loss.

Newport will bounce into Saturday's game after beating Williamstown, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Wildcats walked away with a 2-0 win over the Demons on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Carroll County came up short against Dayton on Wednesday and fell 2-0. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Greendevils recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Carroll County now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Newport, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Newport couldn't quite get it done against Carroll County when the teams last played back in August of 2023 as they fell 2-0. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
