Iroquois West is 8-2 against Cissna Park since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Raiders will host the Timberwolves at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Last Friday, Iroquois West came up short against Oakwood and fell 6-2.

Rylan Pheifer was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, he gave up only three walks, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Pheifer wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Julian Melgoza, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that Melgoza hit this season.

Meanwhile, Cissna Park lost 8-2 to Ridgeview on Saturday.

Cissna Park's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Iroquois West, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Iroquois West beat Cissna Park 7-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Timberwolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
