Softball Game Preview: Chicopee Pacers vs. Granby Rams

The Chicopee Pacers will challenge the Granby Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Granby will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Chicopee extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday. The Pacers blew past Chicopee Comp 18-3.

Raelyn Loud made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Adeline Olbrych was a standout: she fired off two home runs and four RBI while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Izzabella Harper was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Meanwhile, Granby gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victors by a 17-5 margin over Palmer.

Granby's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Chicopee, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 3-0.
