Lamar won the last time they faced La Junta and things went their way on Thursday too. The Thunder put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Thunder.
The final score came out to 25-16, 25-20, 25-16.
Addy Krug paced Lamar's offense, picking up ten kills. Krug got some help from Abygail Gonzales and her 28 assists. Lisette Frias controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Despite the defeat, La Junta saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mia Whatley had ten digs and two aces. Whatley has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last five times she's played.
Lamar's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for La Junta, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
