Volleyball Recap: Northwestern Regional Highlanders vs. Sacred Heart Academy

Northwestern Regional and Sacred Heart Academy squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Northwestern Regional had to settle for second. They came up short against Sacred Heart Academy, falling 3-0. The Highlanders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Northwestern Regional couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Sacred Heart Academy a tough time in the third set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-14, 30-28.

Mackenzie Janco paced Northwestern Regional's offense, picking up eight kills. Janco got some help from Madi Landi and her 18 assists. Taylor Kelley controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Sacred Heart Academy was led to victory by Tessa Farrah and Bella Spinato. Farrah had five digs and three aces, while Spinato had seven digs, a kill, and 19 assists. That's the most aces Farrah has posted in her last seven matches.

Northwestern Regional now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Sacred Heart Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season.
