Softball Recap: Mount De Sales Academy Falls Short Against Ranked Archbishop Spalding

Mount de Sales Academy faced Archbishop Spalding in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Sailors took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cavaliers. The match marked the Sailors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Kat Wright made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

Mount de Sales Academy's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-5. As for Archbishop Spalding, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Looking ahead, Mount de Sales Academy will face off against Francis Scott Key at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Archbishop Spalding, they will challenge Queen Anne's County at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
