The John Carroll Catholic Rams will take on the Berkeley Prep Buccaneers in a tournament on Thursday. John Carroll Catholic's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Berkeley Prep's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Colt Miller was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024.
On the hitting side, Ayson McIntosh made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Berkeley Prep waltzed into their contest on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Celtics with a sharp 9-3 victory. With that win, the Buccaneers brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Ben O'Brien tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Lucas Farrar was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4. Carson Binder was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Berkeley Prep lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Berkeley Prep pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for John Carroll Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.
John Carroll Catholic suffered a grim 14-0 defeat to Berkeley Prep when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Can John Carroll Catholic avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
