Basketball Game Preview: Coalinga Horned Toads vs. Strathmore Spartans

Having just played yesterday, the Coalinga Horned Toads will jump right back in to play the Strathmore Spartans at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Coalinga is coming into the contest hot, having won their last ten games.

Coalinga is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Firebaugh: they outscored them in every quarter. Coalinga enjoyed a cozy 60-42 victory over Firebaugh on Friday. Given the Horned Toads' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 240th, while the Eagles are ranked 615th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Strathmore was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 37-31 to Tulare Union.

Coalinga pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points per game. As for Strathmore, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.
