Volleyball Recap: Burney Raiders vs. Plumas Charter Warriors
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Weed, Burney was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Plumas Charter Warriors, sneaking past 2-1.
Burney had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 28-26, 15-3.

Burney got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alexis Witzel out in front who had 29 digs, eight kills, and four blocks. Witzel has been hot, having posted 18 or more digs the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria Jimenez Garcia, who had 19 digs, five kills, five aces, and two blocks.
Burney was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. They are a perfect 3-0 when they serve at least ten aces.
